The Fishing Widow is owned and operated by the Rietveld Family who are year-round, Alaska residents. Liz and Chris opened the shop in 2003 and have enjoyed meeting new people in the summers and providing a warm gathering place for locals in the cold winters.

The quaint shop offers a full espresso bar, hard scoop ice cream, bread bowl soups and smoothies in the historic setting of Copper Center, Alaska which is famous for the 1898 Gold Rush.

Over 30 Alaskan aritists sell their wares here giving the Fishing Widow a unique flavor that can only be found in a true Alaskan small town.
